MISHAWAKA ART & FRAME GALLERY
When you walk into the Mishawaka Art & Frame Gallery you get the distinct impression that there are things here you won’t find anywhere else. From custom-made mirrors and art to items with brands like Sea Stones and Yardbirds, the selection is delightfully eclectic. The inventory is rotated regularly to keep things fresh and new. Every item is made in the USA, and most are handmade and ecologically friendly in the production process.
While the Mishawaka Art & Frame Gallery has been around for 27 years, it has only been at its current location for seven years. The owner, Peggy O’Neil, and her family started originally with unique framing, which is still a large part of the business. You can find framing materials created from reclaimed lumber and tin, to inlaid specialty woods, to art deco and just plain fun. Peggy has expanded the framing business to now include paintings, painted furniture, murals, glass, ceramics, commissioned projects (such as for the Beiger Mansion), and more.
The Gallery also offers interior design/consulting services, and help with color choices for the home or office. Typically three Art Shows are held each year with artists present for signings.
So where does the inspiration come from? When asked that question Peggy O’Neil replied that she just wants to make people laugh. As a result, much of her work is contemporary and whimsical. Her father, who was also an artist, taught her many of her skills.
You can find items from $2.50 to $700 to fit into any decor. We heartily recommend you stop by sometime and check Mishawaka Art and Frame Gallery out for yourself.
